If you don't have a preferred source for your memory cards, I'd recommend CoreMicro in Aurora, ON ... I've bought a fair number of USB drives, SD cards, &c. from them.

Not only much quicker delivery than the P.R., but every unit they've shipped me has checked out 100% on h2testw. Their prices are not the cheapest, but close enough, given the assurance of quality.

Current price on 16 GB TF is under $10 (with free shipping, all the way from Aurora ;-) ... http://tinyurl.com/bvjx997

Patrick: Third pair of sunglasses were the best of the bunch, but suffered from a few minor issues.

The first is the narrow field of vision, as seen in the "steel plate" video they're not much good with that restrictive a field. There is a pair out there that advertises 170 degree field of vision, but I've blown my budget for toys this summer, and that one is just going to have to wait.

Second, the glasses DO NOT fit properly, which makes them impractical for almost any application other than stuffing them inside my helmet.

Third, they still induce motion sickness, and I much prefer the video from a fixed camera attached to the bike over the sunglasses.

I'm not done experimenting with sunglass cameras altogether, but I am done with them for now.

Beauty, should have asked to see the camera when I was up your way.

I'm not sure how handy the additional "options" are on mine, as setting it up as a "black box" camera on my bike (turning itself on and off along with the ignition, and recording over itself) would require keeping the rear cap off, and I imagine the elements would work their way in and do their worst.

Lower quality video is a good thing as far as I'm concerned, as I'll have to go hunting for a 16gb TF card soon, so that I can record an entire ride and not have to be as selective with its use. Would much rather have it set and forget, rather than worrying that something interesting is gonna happen two minutes after it shuts itself off.

As for alternative mounting arrangements, thought I might zip tie a piece of broomstick across the trunk and post the camera a foot or two out from me. As long as I don't sweep any pedestrians it might make for some interesting video.

May-Two-Four weekend ... and I finally remembered to take the bike cam for a ride. It looks like the recording quality is not quite as good as yours, but only uses something in the 850Mb-950Mb range for each 30-minute segment.

Mounted the cam on the left turn signal stalk to clear the windscreen, and not as shaky as I expected. Not quite Oscar cinematography quality, but good enough for me ;-)

Here's a couple of short snippets from our ride today ... following my sweetie, crossing the Grand River at Blair and down into Cambridge ...

Looks like a flashlight. How did the third pair of video sunglasses subsequently work out?

The SU-16 was $800CAD. Another buddy of mine liked the rifle so much, he's gonna pick one up as well.

My current dashcam uses a completely different style of attachment (a base with four tabs, that corresponds to slots on the mount), so these are of no particular use to me. Had hoped to use them on the CBRs tank, but that's a non-starter....so they are no good to me at all (except, as I mentioned, as clutter).

I placed the order for my replacements before it occurred to me that you'd have a spare. So they're on their way here ...'eventually'

Just one would do me just fine ... you can keep the other in stock in case your mounts fails, too ;-)

Thanks!
