I didn’t watch the full thing, as I’m already a big proponent of not talking to the cops and doubt that he’s going to offer up anything I haven’t already had drilled into my head. I’m also pretty sure that I’m going to go to a couple lectures on criminal law this year and don’t want to spoil the surprise!
A French despot actually summed up in a very good way why speaking to the cops is a path to getting ploonhumped:
“Give me six sentences from the most innocent man and I shall have enough to hang him.”
The point is that guilty or innocent, speaking with police can usually generate enough to get you convicted. The police don’t hand out commendations to their officers who successfully exclude somebody as a suspect. The cop is trying to prove you’re guilty of something and anybody knows that if you start looking for an answer that fits your agenda, you’ll probably find it if you look long enough.
