I guess it’s about time…

Published by Mugwug at 06:14:44 under General

I was starting to wonder if we’d have a proper winter, what with all the global warming and all.

Snow on the street

Nice to see some snow, even if I do have to shovel it.

Your photo makes it look very romantic.

Wasn’t so much fun for us slippin’ and slidin’ on a layer of snow over ice on the way back from Bayfield last night.

I must admit - not my idea of a ‘good time’ … following a line of cars doing 40Kph, with an 18-wheeler a couple of feet off my back bumper.

Ah, winter … you gotta be tough to be a Canadian ;-)

The snow looks great until it’s been there a couple days, has turned brown from the cars and people passing over it, and the becomes that sludge that cakes on everything below two feet.

I prefer the cold weather, but not the snow. I’d love winter if it wasn’t for the filthy crap the heavens sprinkle on us for five months.

We got our first dump yesterday out here on the Wet Coast. Now I gotta drive around in the stuff all night without the benefit of snow tires!

So goes Canada, soon comes Chicago. Still, the first night of real, stick to the ground snow is always a loverly sight.

What is this “Snow” I keep hearing about.
Well, guess I’d better pick out a tee shirt for the range trip tomorrow.
    HA…………
Oh, and did I mention it’s warm down here?

Warm is nice until a twister tosses your home back to Toronto.

I’m sure you’re not in tornado alley, but I gotta dig back somehow.

While Patrick is right that we got our first and hopefully last dump of the year, the pivotal difference is that here in Vancouver, the rain that comes within 12 hours washes it all away. All rain=No shovel.

Meh, grew up in the Yukon and Saskatchewan. I’ve had my lifetime safe dosage of snow at this point. Once the degree is done, I intend to move somewhere that ice machine and air conditioner repairmen work year-round. Of course, I also intended to have a girlfriend named Trixie and drive a Porsche, so don’t hold me to that.

“Warm is nice until a twister tosses your home back to Toronto.”
    Trust me, I wouldn’t mind.
Besides, I’d have the best firearms collection in the Metro.

You’d have the best collection in Metro until they come to take it away. Miller’s a prick.

So you are in tornado country?
