Some time off?
I am in desperate need of a mental health day, but a weekend off will have to do. I didn’t take any overtime this weekend, the extra money would have been nice but I’m dragging my posterior as it is (I already have one statutory holiday OT shift, and one normal OT shift in for this pay period).
Some time with the family would be nice, and I’m planning to get on top of some chores that have been residing on the “to-do” list for way too long and might even spend a little time catching up on some zombie reviews (the most recent additions to the collection are Flight of the Living Dead and Zombie Town, neither of which was absolutely horrible.).
I’m in the midst of renewing my range membership, and this means I’ll likely end up unable to shoot for a few weeks as my old membership expires and my new one wanders through CanadaPosts mess before it finds it’s way to me.
Otherwise things are going swimingly.
Good idea! Working 8 days a week really sux.
KD was observing yesterday that we’ve probably been ‘overdoing’ it on the cottage project, as well … out there six times in the last eight days. So we’re taking this weekend off, too.

I know the feeling. I’m right at the end of my monthly five night shifts, followed by five days off. I had a midterm last Monday, a paper due on Monday and another midterm this Tuesday. I’ve got to pester the parts shop for my new piston rings so my buddy Rob can rebuild the engine on the Miata so I can stop driving the minivan(Or as I call it, the civilian variant armoured personnel carrier).
I also need to do a ton of chores around the house and was so damn tired when Scotty phoned me this afternoon, I remember having a short conversation with him, with no specific details beyond him having midterms as well. I think one of us was going to call the other back too, but if it wasn’t for the call registered on my cell phone, I’d have totally discounted it as a dream: You know that your life sucks when you count calls returned in your sleep as being actually returned.
I’m going insane…wanna come?
Dad: Nah, not even close to the hours I was pulling with the previous commute, but exhausting none the less.
Overdoing the cottage project? Perhaps, a weekend off is a good idea all around.

I loved Flight of the Living Dead (Originally Plane Dead was the title). I’ve watched it twice and really enjoyed it. I really thought I’d be disappointed by it and was more than pleasently surprised by it. Fido is great as well. Think Pleasentville with zombies. Very different lighthearted movie.
