    Rick Mercer is a Gawd.
    The only thing funnier than watching Mercer’s “Talking to Americans”,
    is watching it in a room full of Americans.

    Some of the questions from “Talking to Americans” are too funny.
    “Should Canada get a Navy, even though we don’t have access to water?”
    “Is the traditional method of killing moose (Throwing Timbits at them) cruel?”
    “When Canada finally gets a national flag, what should go on it?”
    Most common answer, a hockey puck.
    Nikki gets angry, “There are stupid people in Canada too”, & “You wouldn’t like it if Canada was made to look stupid”, “It’s just plain insulting!”
    Needless to say “The most painful part of becoming American, was the lobotomy.”, or “Hey look, Defenseless country to invade.” jokes still aren’t funny to her.
    That’s OK. She still loves me.

    I should tape some episodes of Royal Canadian Air Farce, 22 Minutes, Mercer Report, &c. for Nikki. Canadians make fun of themselves a lot more often than they make fun of our neighbours to the south.

    On the other hand, unless one’s familiar with what’s going on up here, much of the point of our Canadian satire would be lost.

    And, yes, Nikki … there most certainly are stupid people in Canada, too. Unfortunately for us, they’re the ones currently running the country :-(
