Toilet training has its humour. I thought nothing about the fact that she wanted to see Daddy take a crap. I even thought that it might help her potty training. I started to think it strange when she asked to see my poop. I really thought it strange when she waved bye to my poop as it flushed away and said "see ya later alligator." Anyway, we are still working on the potty training and today she came by while I was taking a crap and placed her toy penguin on her potty so I did not have to potty alone. Ahhh, the memories that I will have.

Dad: I think it's quite clear that the weirdness gene does NOT skip generations in this family. Alternately it's got to be part enviromental, I'm certain some of her Dad and Uncles weirdness stem from the infliction of "Blue Velvet" and "Apocalypse Now" along with others at a really young age.

Not that I'm complaining mind, merely an observation.

As for the visit, you guys are always welcome over here, you know that. And on the plus side you can leave if the terrible two stuff begins, we have to stick around for that kinda thing.

Well, if she inherited any weirdness genes from her dad, we should start seeing the effects pretty soon. If memory serves, both her dad and her uncle went weird long before those 'teen years' ;-)

Gee ... I suppose we'll have to drop by sometime and check up on our cute little granddaughter!

Greg: Oh no mistake, I count us as lucky in MANY respects. Compared to the horror stories we've been told we're getting off light right across the board.

Piet: Get weird around the college years? Hell, get creepy when she hits the teen years. I think we'll play this one by ear.

I think you should start a new trend, and continue to praise her for going potty till she asks you to stop.
It might get weird around the college years, but at least she'll know you're proud of her.
She really is terribly cute. (You know that comes from Lisa's side, right?)

Toilet training? We’re still working on it, the concept seems to register but we’re having trouble seperating the legitimate efforts to use the toilet and the “I want Mommy and Daddy to pay undivided attention to me” episodes.

Consider yourself lucky. Girls like being toilet trained. Boys react to learning badder control by discovering what they can pee on besides into the toilet(Seat, floor, parents).
