Motivation…

Published by Mugwug at 18:23:36 under General

Still not 100% and am headed back into work tonight. Sense of general malaise remains, and I am cheered only by a song that has been stuck in my head since this afternoon;

River of Jordan: (by Peter Yarrow)

I traveled the banks of the River of Jordan
To find where it flows to the sea.
I looked in the eyes of the cold and the hungry
And I saw I was looking at me.
I wanted to know if life had a purpose
And what it all means in the end.
In the silence I listened to voices inside me
And they told me again and again.

The is only one river. There is only one sea.
And it flows through you, and it flows through me.
There is only one people. We are one and the same.
We are all one spirit. We are all one name.
We are the father…

We are one..

If you know why it’s stuck in my head, then you’re likely related to me.

    Oh my GAWD!!!
    You were watching “Airplane”!!!
    And don’t call me Shirley.

Do you have a portable DVD player? My suggestion is the entire Zucker Abrahms Zucker lexicon while on shift. If you have to work sick, be sick.

Permanent brain damage caused by excessive viewing of ‘Airplane’ … sad, really, because no cure has yet been found :-(

I’m not related to you, so it took me like 10 minutes to figure this out, while it took Piet like 10 milliseconds….

    Have you seen this?
(Not that you could own it in Canada)

Thinking of that little girls suffering always brings a smile to my face…

Hehe, Nikki I am certain Dad resents the fact that Piet and I committed the dialogue from the film to memory and could, on demand, regurgitate the entire film.

Undoubtedly ruining a classic film for him.

It still remains one of my favorites.

Technically I didn’t actually see the film, during my shift one of the clients I ran into was quoted as saying “what a pisser” and it immediately triggered a mental connection with the quote from the film.

    The song came unbidden.

Piet: Keltec? I’ve seen their stuff, but you’re well aware we are not going to be getting anything like that on this side of the line (although technically wouldn’t it be just restricted and considered a pistol?), and even if we did the price would be so inflated as to make it a less attractive option, it was my understanding that Keltec appealed to the budget shooter.

    Mike: Hehe..suffering. Cool.

One of the ZS guys got his hands on that Kel-Tec pistol and he seems to like it. There is a thread about it here. Seems like those would make a great gun for a driver or someone else who would normally have an AR based loudout but finds themself in tight quarters.

    I want one.

‘On demand’?! It was like the original ‘home theatre’ multi-speaker experience … except the dialogue from the ‘rear speakers’ was generally several milliseconds ahead of the video tape :-)

    “Mayday! Mayday!
    What the heck is that?
Why, that’s the Russian New Year. We can have a parade and serve hot hors d’oeuvres… ”

jeez Erik look what you started.

I think there may very well be something wrong with you people. I hope it’s not contagious…

OK, we’re all thinking it, so I’ll say it: It’s pretty obvious that the cutting edge Soviet Bloc technology hardware that Mugwug has been running окна 78 operating system on has suffered it’s own “Y2K” meltdown as a result of it having had 2000 posts.

Remember buddy, no part of a computer can be fixed with a potato!

    any body alive?

  19. Mugwugon 08 May 2007 at 21:30:35

Ayup… people alive, but few of the visitors read the older entries. Typically if it isn’t on the main page then people don’t check.
