A few minutes to spare…
Finally reached my days off, and while the “to-do” list appears to have grown a fair bit, I have today to hammer away at it.
In so far as general updates a light may have appeared at the end of the tunnel. I recently had a second interview for a local job (lateral move in so far as income, but improvements in all other areas) and I have my fingers crossed that I’ll get the job. Think positive thoughts out there people, I am hoping that the 401 loses its place as a solid fixture in my life very, very soon.
Some general improvements with the CCTV system, nothing exciting sadly, just general abuse testing and fine tuning. Two UPSs now tacked on to the system (one onto the recording components, the other onto the viewing components) which should carry the system through short term power loss and the frequent micro-outages that seem to plague this area.
I’ve set aside today to spend some time watching and writing about a few of the newer zombie movies I’ve acquired, and hopefully I can clear my errands (boring boring boring) away and tuck myself into some zombie goodness before too much time has passed.
That’s it.
I was wondering about the job - but we never get a chance to talk so hadn’t yet asked. I hope you get it, sounds like a HUGE step up, even if only in the commute.

Hey Mon,
What is the new job about?
He’s becoming a pimp. Slightly better uniform than security, but keeping the wide brim hat from blowing off is a real pain.
Nothing stupendous really, comms operator for a local University PD. The perk to this job being no tuition for course taken on campus, I’m sure Greg will identify with the appeal to this perk.

Keep yer fingers crossed for me.
I’m sure Greg will identify with the appeal to this perk.
Pffft. It’s a university in Ontario. I guess you’ll really be getting what you pay for…
In all seriousness, use it and get some free edumacation. BTW, I’m about to fall into doing some work for the “new yob with the new mob” with databases. If I need to hire a person to put a quickie Access DB together, you want the werk?
