SomethingAwful takes a shot at ZombieSquad

Published by Mugwug under Stupid Human Tricks

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. SomethingAwful’s feature the weekend web takes a quick peek at three forums, one of which is the Zombie Squad, and pokes fun at them using examples from each to illustrate why they are so pathetic.

They are still role-playing zombie invasion as if it never went out of style. What would the government do if zombies invaded right now??? I DON’T GIVE A HOOT. I GOT BILLS TO WORRY ABOUT.

The segment is entirely composed of screencaps of various forum posts, context isn’t so important as long as the post itself has some humourous elements.

Context is not that important, right?

And like this example taken from the SA forums, uh… well, I’m certain the poster just has too much time on his hands.

Ah well, it’s all in good fun, and there’s no such thing as bad publicity, right?

Sleep-dep range trip…

Published by Mugwug under Firearms

Range trip this morning.

A little confusing, but that may be a consequence of the 12 hour night shift I had finished just before heading out to the range to meet Mike, Theodore and Will. No serious plans for the range, just an effort to wear the barrels down a little, and to examine Wills fathers pride and joy (of course the keys to the trigger lock failed to join us at the range, so there was no shooting of this pride and joy).

By the time we packed it in around 12:30 I was a jibbering wreck, but I still had a good time. Next trip out we need more cold-weather gear, and a more detailed plan.

Ever have one of those nights?

Kinda fast, eh?

A quick snapshot of the speedometer of my patrol car last night. Can you guess what kind of night it was?

An unusual boxing day…

Published by Mugwug under General

I spent a good portion of yesterday not shopping for bargains, but delivering Pizzas around Kitchener.

No, it’s not a career change, it was a favour for my step-father who had been double booked amongst his jobs. My impressions are mixed to be honest, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it’d be. The money wasn’t horrible (ended the day with Mean Machine and Cabin Fever on DVD, dinner for the family ordered from Swiss Chalet and ten bucks left over) although the “on-call” nature really didn’t agree with me as each time I got comfortably settled at home the cell phone would ring and I’d have to dash out again.

Ah well. Still it’s the very first boxing day I can remember where I did some shopping and came home with more money than I left with.

Christmas Eve…

Published by Mugwug under Baby Blogging

Every year my fathers side of the family gathers on Christmas Eve. We gorge ourselves on a massive feast, consume copious quantities of alcohol and exchange gifts. It is, and I’m understating things a bit, an entirely noisy and chaotic event, definately not for the faint of heart.

Jilly and the food

Jillian still seems a little unsure as to what “Christmas” is, but loves noise and chaos, and so was rather entertained by the gathering, even if she did try to glom onto some of Wesleys gifts.

RNS SHTF assessment…

Published by Mugwug under General

The Analog Kid over at Random Nuclear Strikes just had an opportunity to test his Emergency / Disaster readiness and has been kind enough to post a detailed breakdown. I don’t mind admitting that AK is better prepared than I am, but the question remains;

How prepared are you?
