A little overdue…

Published by Mugwug at 08:36:32 under Baby Blogging

Jilly, driving?

Arriving home a little earlier than usual I find Lisa and Jilly outside. Jilly immediately climbs into the car and settles in for a drive.

Heard you guys dropped by … sorry I missed you. Was off north with a couple of the bike club guys for a construction project … http://www.tgw.on.ca/malt/cabin/zen.html

We were doing OK, despite the constant rain, until we ran out of coat-hangers :-(

Ayup, we were running some errands and thought we’d say hi on spec, ran into KD on her way back from dropping some mail.

Figured we’d be sociable, seemed the neighborly thing to do.

    -GRIN-

Was the construction an official bike club project?

I can tell you’re living in a real nice neighbourhood: A kid that age around these parts would have already had it hotwired and at the local chopshop!

  4. Erikon 27 Aug 2006 at 23:18:57

Hehe, can hardly tell the steering column has been punched on the drivers side from that photo, eh?

It wouldn’t be like someone in our family to do it in a way that would get caught. It would have to pass enough of an inspection to buy her enough time to get her piece out.

Oh, I’m sorry, is rude of me to compare your daughter to a Oliver Stone like spree killer?

Well Matti I suppose if you run out of coathangers you *could* reuse a few, if you remember where you hid them…

but only if you leave big jagged holes in the wall that you think your wife won’t notice because there is a bookcase in front of them… but the large square of drywall and paint chips in the middle of the floor kinda give it away…

At LEAST Ted realised that cutting a hole in my kitchen floor would probably lead to him sleeping outside in the kennel, because that was the leading suggestion on how to run the wire….

  7. Ted Onyszczakon 28 Aug 2006 at 21:06:26

The hole in the floor was not a Leading suggestion, it was on the list yeah, but not the top. The problem was more the ceiling underneath and what to do.

PS I do believe wire coathangers only breed when empty, when they hold clothes it blocks the process.

    Ted

Ahhhhhh well I will torch all your shirts and pants so the clothes hangers have a chance to breed….

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT fuck with my kitchen floor.

Hehe, we’ve managed to go this far without cutting major holes in walls or floor. I’ve drilled a few holes through things (intentionally I might add), and damaged the wall by the bedroom light switch (where I pulled the damn thing out of the wall), but all in all it’s little that some plaster and a coat of paint won’t conceal.

What were you guys doing that cutting a hole in the floor/walls was required?

Looks like she’s ready to drive to see us. Taking matters into her own hands. She’ll be the perfect influence on her new cousin.

More wiring, and more wiring, and more wiring. the number two use for coathangers, after medical purposes.

  12. Mugwugon 30 Aug 2006 at 06:56:46

Heather: Actually you’re almost right. We spent yesterday sorting out Jillys passport again. We should be able to trek across the border real soon.

    Looking forward to a visit!

Theodore: Hehe, yeah I got the wiring thing, but were you guys just doing electrical or phone or was this specific music related upgrades?

  13. Brendaon 30 Aug 2006 at 13:17:26

Well, Erik, once upon a time we decided to plug an air conditioner in…

…and we kept blowing the breaker if we say, wanted it and a light on.

So over comes Ihor and they go around and map out what is on what breaker only to discover that on one breaker is: both bedrooms, the hall light, the bathroom, the dinning room, the kitchen fan, and the two small rooms in the basement. (I still do not understand what the other 20 breakers were hooked up to. I was told there were a bunch for the kitchen and the electrician’s workshop in the basement… but still it seemed excessive)

Anyway I thought the wiring craziness was DONE. DONE I TELL YOU!!! Except as we re-finished rooms in the basement they would add a few more outlets.

Well it turned out that one outlet in the kitchen, and two in the living room were missed and not grounded. I whined, I complained, I said it’s been like that for 50 years and I don’t care just leave it the way it is. I say just take out one of the outlets in the living room. It is close to another one and we don’t need it. No luck. Apparently it has to be fixed.

So now it is halfway done. The kitchen/living room same wall) one is done, the second living room one (that I said they could take out) is not done. Grrrrr…..

So Teddy, I stand by my original estimate that the room in the basement won’t be done until MARCH! So prove me wrong!

  14. Brendaon 30 Aug 2006 at 13:18:24

Oh yeah and we have to get together soon. Ted wants to see your place, Wes wants to flirt with Jilly, and I want to gab.

  15. Ted Onyszczakon 30 Aug 2006 at 17:46:45

It would seem you got caught in the middle of some feud, but not so, this is how we get things done. Dr. Phil would have a koniption(sic.) fit.

  16. Brendaon 31 Aug 2006 at 13:14:29

Feud, shmeud. In this household snark=love.

  17. Mattion 01 Sep 2006 at 11:18:29

Conniption - A fit of violent emotion, such as anger or panic. Also called ‘conniption fit.’

future mobile officer…probably drives better then you.

Duh, that’s obvious: Nobody drives worse than Mugwug.

  20. Mugwugon 04 Sep 2006 at 23:04:19

Ah, mobile bretheren past and present. Aside from our common liberal interpretation of the appropriate provincial legislation governing the use of automobiles I feel certain I can match either of your driving skills.

With the possible exception of both of your efforts to set land speed records in vehicles that are only safe in the broadest definition of the word.

    nya nya.

  21. Gregon 05 Sep 2006 at 01:25:43

I feel certain I can match either of your driving skills.

Talk is cheap. And Mobile is the cheap alternative to almost everything.

  22. Mugwugon 06 Sep 2006 at 06:33:44

Hehe, if talk is cheap what is the cost associated with typing?
