In a pinch, your one piece cleaning rod is perfect for fishing wire short distances through walls and ceilings.
Or you can use a wire coat hanger unfolder. But remember to use a DIFFERENT wire coathanger for each wire and to leave them in unexpected places (closets, under baseboards, etc)
’cause we have such a shortage of them? Must conserve on wire coathangers. Do your part for the environment and all.
Brenda: Yep, I’ve done the coat hanger routine many times. The one piece cleaning rod is superior in many ways however;
1) it already comes with a threaded attachement on the end perfect for feeding the wire through.
2) it entirely fails to bend when feeding it through in a straight line.
3) it comes with a handle on the end, allowing you to apply more direct pressure when encountering a mild obstruction.
Handy little piece of kit. I’ve falled back on it three times now.
Theodore: Ahem, coat hanger prices have been increasing with the troubles in the middle east doncha know.
Stock up now, sell them later. I’m telling you ebay is gonna be awash in these things in 6 months.
Can’t imagine why you might have a shortage. Why not do what we do?
We leave them alone in the closet, in the dark, and they breed. After a month or two, there are dozens of empty hangers in there, just waiting to be used to fish cable or fix your car!
My coat hanger’s aren’t breeding… maybe I am feeding them the wrong kind of clothes?
