Just a general update.
Changes on the work front, for the time being I’ve been transferred from uniformed work to sitting in the office at night pushing striped cars around the city again. It’s a job I don’t really enjoy that much, and it means my shift has been moved forward two hours pushing my drive more into “rush hour” and changing an already disliked one hour commute into one and a half, and sometimes two hours, sitting in traffic each way.
I’m feeling more than a little worn down by the drive, but have so far staved off a psychotic road rage episode by working my way through the Harry Potter audio books. I’ve never actually “read” these books before, and have so far worked my way through to the fifth book in the series. Zombies would have been my first choice, but I suppose Potter is better than nothing.
Minor work on the house continues, but the details are too trivial to list here.
Zombie movies continue to arrive, although my “hunt” list is shrinking significantly. The collection now sits at just under 100 movies, and I suppose I really should get cracking on the second edition of the Hitchhikers guide to the zombocalypse. As usual, suggestions for films or format are welcomed!
Ok…back to the grind.
Sorry work is sucking for you right now. Feel free to stop by on the way home if you need to avoid rush hour for the safety of the other commuters
Oh man, that’s a long commute! I’m a big fan of satellite radio myself. 150 channels of music, several news channels, 3 comedy channels… for me it’s $13/month well-spent. Plus there’s a SHTF channel.
Isn’t there some sort of zombie…charm…spell-thing in one of the books? That could have made those books so much better. That, and replacing every “wand” with “wang”.
As for Zombie movie suggestions: CPAC
Zing!
If I hadto be up this early for a commute, I’d go crazy….er.
Eggggh! So the commute goes on (and on)
I did the KW-TO commute several times a week in the mid-1980s when my company got bought up by a TO-based outfit, and KD was doing it almost every day for over a year. I don’t imagine the traffic on the 401 has improved any in the intervening two decades
Will keep my fingers crossed that some form of ’suitable’ employment turns up in Waterloo County for you!
Somebody give Erik his hoover car already
