Urban Dead - Where were we?
Urban Dead has been running for a while now. It seems most of the Zombie Squad teammates I started out with have lost interest and have disappeared from gameplay (or maybe I’ve just not seen them).
I am not sure I can blame them entirely, once a characters skills are maxed the cycle of search/kill/search becomes more than a little repetitive.
I have three characters in Urbandead, all of which maxed out long ago;
- Mugwug - Level 33 Military - Darvall Heights Suburb (Caiger Mall)
- Joe Hawkins - Level 33 Civilian - Peppardville Suburb (Fort Creedy)
- Vitzbitz - Level 33 Zombie - Havercroft Suburb
Of course reading the UrbanDead Wiki there appears to be a series of suggestions as to how to improve the game, which skills to add to the existing tree and how to prevent “zerging” and other cheats or exploits. All or any of which may improve long-term gameplay, but obviously take effort to implement.
I still log in to play, but for the most part (with the exception of my “brainrotted” zombie) my characters serve as Necrotechs and Medics, combat is reserved for unusual circumstances. Still, the game did provide quite a bit of entertainment for a few months there. Not bad at all. Thanks Kevan!
I never really got into it. I mean, i made characters, but when i logged out, and they died, it became pretty boring. That’s the main reason i lose interest in browser based games… i log out and die a lot.
BioNightmare was fun… until i logged out and died.
Looks adorable. I’ll give it a whirl to pass some graveyard shifts.
Wait a second! Vitzbitz can use shotguns?! Those are ours! Those are the living’s divine tool against the undead! That’s like a dude using a diapraghm!
I just stopped playing after I was zombified and there were server errors, plus I wasn’t too good at it.
Sorry about bugging out of UD on ya man. I really like the idea behind the game itself but The Goons and lack of new content just got me bored after a few months.
BTW, how did you get to lvl 33?
Mahg: I know exactly what you mean, I was lucky with UD, I got ym characters rolling and got some skills before my first “curb-stompin”, it kept me coming back…
Mike: It’s entertaining, needs some room to grow though. Nah, Vitzbitz can’t use shotguns anymore, they’re residual human skills and thanks to the zombie “brainrot” skill he won’t be using them any time soon…
Mike2: Yeah, the server errors were annoying, but they’ve optimized a few things and while there are still some laggy sessions the famous “try back again in a bit” messages are few and far between.
Grif: Nah, don’t sweat it. Frankly I was bored to tears withe the game. Then I browsed the Wiki for a bit, and started chasing the battles, pepped things up a bit beyond search/kill/search.
Caiger mall was entertaining, even if I was only there for the last few days of the Seige, ever see a crowd of 700 zombies? Kinda nifty…
I gotta admit, in all honesty, I’m just goofing off now, the characters are all topped out, they’re pretty durable, I take way too many risks and spend alot of time exploring.
It kills part of my night shifts mainly…
(The level 33 part is easy. Max out the human skills, then max out the zombie skills. Zombies can climb one level higher than humans can due to “brain rot”, of course a few days after I “brain rotted my zombie character, they came out with the “doctor” skill, and now they’re all level 33…)
Meh…

That’s how cynical this world has grown, a reference to a man using a diapraghm and not so much as a blink…
I discovered the residual skills bit after I read half the Wiki in research. Reminds me of an even simpler browser game I played, “Kings of Chaos” I think it was called.
Sorry man, I’ll get back into it daily once finals are over. I’m only on like once a week right now.
It’s kind of pointless with out being able to buy more skillz but I still enjoy it.
