Publish them?

I had a suggestion not so very long ago that I publish my zombie reviews as a book, I toyed with the idea and then shelved it.

I guess I’ve now taken it off the shelf. Discovering I had written reviews for 43 zombie movies, I decided to follow the well worn path of others before me over at the Zombie Squad Forums and surfing over to Lulu.com I figured what the heck.

So, I’ll be writing a few more reviews and revamping some of the older ones to ensure the style is consistent, and then we’ll see how it looks on the printed page. Of course I’ll document the process here, because that’s what I always do, no?

If I buy the only copy, at least I’d have a permanent backup for my my next crash.

    Hey Mike,

    Looking into this I’m gonna have to overhaul the reviews anyway, so it looks like the project will take longer than I first thought. Likely it’ll require some rewrites so the published reviews will differ somewhat from the online ones.

    We’ll see how it turns out, should be amusing.

    ZS is good, I don’t spend nearly enough time there of late, but it’s always an entertaining visit when I swing by.

    There are few enough places to find like minded people, ZS is definately top of my list.

    Very cool!

    I always enjoy reading your reviews. I’m sure there are plenty more out there that will as well.

    You’ve saved me from buying lots of crap in the past and exposed me to movies that I never new existed. Others will appreciate it as well.

    By the way, sorry about Maplewoods. Don’t hate me.

    Patrick: The review is in there, use the “search” feature and look for “dawn of the dead polley”, should bring it right up.

    Kyle: Nothing to be sorry about, compared to some of the leperous turds I’ve sat through maplewoods isn’t all that bad. It sure ain’t great, but it ain’t bad. It’s not like you made me watch “House of the Dead”.

    Besides, if it wasn’t for you and ZS I’d still be feeling my way around the zombie genre by feel, now my “hunt” list is huge…

    Hmmm, more work than I thought.

    Formatting and minor rewrites in progress, done my research on “fair use” of copyrighted materials, and have started overhauling the reviews.

    Still humming and hawing over a title, and the final layout of the reviews themselves, although a “good, bad and ugly” format seems to lend itself well to the material.

    Ideas?

    Well, perfectionist tendancies aside, the editing seems to be going well. Having finally decided that I’ll just publish the reviews “as is” instead of muddling through a series of overhauls.

    Book now has an ISBN of 0-9739643-0-8 which is a new one on me, and makes the project seem more concrete.

    Who knew?
