Nigerian Scam - Product Order

Published by Mugwug at 03:16:51 under Scams, Spam and Skullduggery

Scammer spam has been flooding my Jim Kirk addresses since the first scam correspondence took place. This one is shaping up to be entertaining, although they’ve yet to make the specific pitch, I suspect this is an effort to obtain goods with forged cheques.

Dear Mr/Mrs. Mclama

Due to economic constraints our company has limited production to “flibberty gibbets” an excellent product that has gained us worldwide attention.

The unit price for a flibberty gibbet (standard, matte finish) is $32.79 (US Dollars). Although we offer some bulk discounts, this is the base cost.

How did you come to find out about our product, were you at the recent flibberty-con in San Jose?

Thank you in advance for your patronage.

Jim Kirk

Nope, no hesitation from this guy, he doesn’t even pause to ask what the hell a “Flibberty Gibbet” is, and what options there are besides “Standard, Matte”.

Mclama,

How many are you looking for? I’ve asked our parts department for a quote and they say that for a shipment of 100 FGs (S,M) with shipping is $3450.00 Canadian dollars.

I can arrange a quote for a lessor ammount if you’d prefer, or more depending on your needs (additional bulk savings are available in quantities over 500 where the unit cost drops to $27 per Gibbet).

Regards,

Jim Kirk

And here we go again….

What options are there besides standard, matte?

  2. Mugwugon 05 May 2005 at 05:56:44

I dunno… What the hell should me make the Flibberty Gibbets be?

  3. Mikeon 06 May 2005 at 09:11:04

Use one of the random extra gun parts lying around, like the reflex sight. They’ll probably have no idea what it is when they see it.

Hehe…. nah it looks like this is merely a variation of the advance fee scam, most recent email they’ve sent me advises of an overpayment and refund situation.

Looks like they’re trying for two birds with one stone, get some free stuff and some cash back for their trouble.

For this one I am refusing payment above the required amount, just to see what they do about it, if they have any interest in the product at all, or if they just push for the money.
