Zombie HolocaustOverview: Someone is stealing bits and pieces of cadavers in New York, it’s a horrible crime and demands an investigation. Who’s assigned to the case? The NYPD? The FBI? Homeland Security? Hah! Thats just foolish, lets send some doctors and a reporter to investigate this atrocity!

Summary: In GMH (Generic Metropolitan Hospital) #119 the staff have become concerned with a string of cadaver mutilations. Body parts removed for no obvious reason. Initially dismissed as pranks, the staff eventually discover an Indonesian porter is responsible for these incidents, and is in fact part of a remote tribe that practices canibalism (Note to HR: Perhaps a background check or two…).

Following the porters suicide the staff, led by Doctor Peter Chandler, decide to investigate this matter on their own (you know, without police or government assistance) and team up with a reporter familiar with the region, and jump on a plane.

When asked for proof Frank tells him that the Army Corp of Engineers screwed up and delivered some of the bodies to this very facility.

Frank shows Freddy the barrels containing the bodies, and in the process accidentally breaches one of them, releasing the gas contained within, and worse.

Movie: “Children of the Living Dead” (2001)

Published by Mugwug under Zombie Movie Reviews

Children of the living dead“Children of the Living Dead” (2001) directed by Tor Ramsey.
(MF Title: “Forget the zombies, shoot the director in the head!”)
Starring: Tom Savini, Marty Schiff, Damien Luvara and Jamie McCoy.
Zombie Film Rating: half skull - simply because living dead is in the titleno skullno skullno skullno skull

Overview: This movie is the genital herpes of the Zombie Film Genre. Not even bad enough to be good, it still manages to combine bad acting, flimsy logic, poor camera work and a sort of generic incoherence into a package that at best is a dismal effort at a zombie film, and at worst is a cheap effort to cash in on the “of the dead” series of films. If you feel you must inflict this movie on yourself, do it when you’re well fortified with alcohol or illicit drugs.

Summary: The movie opens (promisingly) with Deputy turned survivalist Hughes (Tom Savini) whooping zombie butt, but the fun soon ends as he is joined by Deputy Randolf and they check out the “old hayes place”.

Shaun of the DeadSummary: Shaun is a thirty-something trapped in a dead-end job (as an appliance salesman) who lives with his unemployed sometimes dope selling childhood friend (Ed) and who (to his girlfriends dismay) spends most of his time at the “Winchester” pub.

Shauns screw-up with the dinner arrangements (yet again) spells the end to his relationship with his girlfriend, who breaks up with him. Shaun retreats to the Winchester with his friend Ed, and they tie one on properly.

Stumbling home they are oblivious to the zombie shuffling down the street (who moans in synch with their rendition of White lines) except to register their disappointment that he missed his cues in the song.
