Received the Ram Motorcycle Fork Stem Base in the mail yesterday. This mount is a double ball mount with the base mounting into the center of the handlebars, allowing all sorts of adjustment for height and angle. Initial impressions are favourable, with all the bits included and proper english instructions for installation.

Installation took 20 minutes altogether, and was extremely simple. The finished product looks like the picture on the outside of the packaging, and so it’s time to test the thing out and see how it does.
I have to admit I like it. It provides a much better view than the cludged together mirror mount, and doesn’t make me nearly as sea-sick as the sunglasses camera. I think it’s just about perfect!
I’ll run this AND the sunglasses tomorrow on my way into work, and see if I can’t cobble together some entertaining video from the two sources as a mini-project!).
Not bad.
I ended up attaching my DVR bracket to one of the turn signal stalks and that works OK (the stalks on my old W650 being considerably longer than those on yours).
But your arrangement is nice in terms of including (at least some) of the dash.
Looking forward to that ‘entertaining video’
Have run into a recurring issue with the “action cam” where it doesn’t actually record anything (although the red light blinks in the way it is supposed to). This has occured on the last two rides where I specifically brought out the camera to see how it did in low-light and night rides.
Not sure if theres a vibration problem with the switch or if it thinks the TF card is full, but it’s kinda annoying.
There has been a side effect of this, my poor little 40GB laptop lacks the space to store endless amounts of ride videos, and so I’ve had to do some housekeeping and have shelved the problem isolation process for the action cam for the time being.
Will no doubt pick up where I left off once the warranty issue with the CBR starting is resolved, and I get the exhaust sorted out (as I’m kinda out of mods at that point and can get back to fine tuning).
Naw … no pressure, no pressure. I’m sure when you get around to it, that video will be very entertaining
