Range time…

I know, I know… It’s been ages since I’ve written anything firearms related at all. Well today I got dragged out to the range for some tinkering with technology (target cam – fail / DVR Glasses – Meh) and even got in a little trigger time versus some steel plates.

The video is a little disappointing, but has potential for future range trips.

(I did finally manage to set the clock on these glasses AFTER the range trip – so future videos should actually have the correct date/time)

Damn! So jittery it sorta looks like a POV Shoot ‘em up video game!

Finally got to the range to try out the new SU-16 and S&W 686 4′! Both shoot rather well…at least at fifty yards.

Will send you some video texts.

Yeah, have ordered a fixed camera for the bike, but may try it out first at the range, strap it to a forearm and see what kind of footage we get from that instead.

Whats the verdict on the SU16 (I still think Sukhoi when I see su as part of a designation), how did it do?

The SU-16 (Kel-Tec) did well with iron sights at 50 and 75 yards. Was hitting bullseyes with it. I’ll be looking for a scope of some sort soon for it as it comes standard with a picatinny rail. Love the fact that ‘theoretically,’ if I had full 30 round mags, I could conceivably have 90 rounds on hand on the rifle (60 rounds with 2 30 rounders coupled together and 1 30 rounder held in the stock of the rifle – which incidentally comes standard with 2 fitted 10 round mags) as a bug out gun.

    I’ll send you some videos.

My kid’s looking now to purchase the Bushmaster ACR next in .308. Told him he should get his toys before looking for a girlfriend as he won’t have any finances left after that.

BTW, the SU-16 is in .223.

What was the cost of the SU-16?

  6. Patrick says:

The SU-16 was $800CAD. Another buddy of mine liked the rifle so much, he’s gonna pick one up as well.
