Pulling up stakes…

Published by at 20:49:12 under General

So it looks like we’re seriously moving this time. Since my new job is 50 minutes away the plan is to pull up stakes and move much (MUCH) closer.

This means we’re going to have to sell our house and buy a new one 80km away.

This is exciting, we are no longer house buying rookies and our wish list is much more exhaustive than last time.

On the down side we’ve had a home stager come in (compliments of our Rel Estate Agent) and we’re now implementing the recommendations to improve the appeal of our little home.

This means not only throwing a coat of paint on everything and generally coordinating decor but also means I have to get off my posterior and tie up loose projects around the house (and there are a few “in progress” that lurk on the pending list).

We’ve embraced a fairly generous timeline for this, and we think we’re good to go.

I may post some pics as we move along…

You betcha … we need to see those ‘before and after’ photos!

Best of luck with the ‘staging’ :-)

There is such a thing as a “Home stager”? When we sold our place in Surrey, T just watched every dumbass(My word, not hers)”Sell your Crackhouse” DIY show in existence, a habit she has yet to break, then did all the staging herself.

For things to have wish list, two words: Your den. My den includes a framed target silohette from my weapons qualification last year(That will form the centrepiece of my future law office; I scored a perfect round on the course of fire and it’s got a nice feel to it). It looks like a grenade went off in there right now due to paper writing, but it’s nice having a room where I can go and study the law, brief cases and, um, surf for monkey porn.

Also use Google Earth to recce the area around the house for walking/riding paths, features, etc. You should get your agent to give you the addresses they want to show you in advance so you can do this yourself.

You neglected to mention you are moving closer to me.
60Km down like 1600 to go.
My plan is working slowly, but it’s working.

    OK I did the math.
By my calculations it should take you about 267 years to move to Texas.
I’ll make up the spare room.
