One last Monkey jumping on the bed…
A typical Monday, Lisa and I sorta dragging around the house while Jilly races around like her diet consists entirely of sugar. A few warnings from Mommy and Daddy to be careful go largely unheeded.
The adventure culminates in a loud crash from the second floor, followed by a particular sort of howl that indicates this owee may require more than a quick kiss to set right.

Initially we figured it for a sprain as there was no swelling or bruising, but a call from the school this morning suggested that the wrist had started to swell and Jilly was still favoring her right hand.
A quick departure from work followed by a trip to our GP, then to the General Hospital pretty much killed the day and resulted in a hot pink cast for poor Jilly.
She’s recovering well, as the photo indicates.
She doesn’t seem to be too upset about it.
Yeah, that’s my concern.
Two trips to the hospital for Jilly so far. The first was that cut on her head from daycare after a “ring around the rosey” incident. She got a freezie and a stitch or two, was in great spirits.
This trip she got stickers from every department we visited and was treated like a princess.
I’m worried she’s starting to look on these incidents as field trips rather than negative things.
hrm…
Seems to me it’s time for a Jack Handy moment.
“The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face.”
Let her enjoy her “fearless” years, Gawd knows adults worry enough for everyone.
A Princess Pink cast! Now that’s colour co-ordinated!
Oh dear, hope it’s off before pool weather comes.
Do you think this has slowed her down a bit?
Merle
Hey! Get out those markers and get some artwork on that cast
Lucky for you that Jilly is an only child. Casts are an unfair advantage in an intersibling war.
You know what that cast needs?
A four rail mount.
I’m thinking a laser, flashlight, vertical grip and a
tactical Barbie brush.
You know, every time I come by your page and see that smile, I have to smile back. I’m helpless to avoid it! It is like some sort of Pavlovian response!
I hope she is right as rain, and fully recovered from her injury.
Thanks James!
She’s fully recovered. Cast is now off, and she’s eagerly exploring ways of doing herself other minor harms now.
