Turning messy now… and still more to go…

Published by at 19:42:32 under Telco Distribution

Still waiting for little bits and bobs, but the wiring continues. I think I’ve done all I can before I actually start moving services, so things are likely to go downhill asthetically from this point forward.

The wiring is going to clutter up things a bit, no?

See?

    How long till you’re online?
The connectors are in the mail (With your headset?)….

Dad: Damn skippy… the wiring is a lot neater this time through, and (although it just didn’t translate into the picture) well labeled.

Piet: Oh sweet zombie jebus… I ordered a dozen items through ebay, the stuff I figured would take forever has already arrived, the stuff I figured would get here right away is nowhere to be found (seriously, I get the DSL filter, dsitribution hub and the linemans test set inside of a week, and the RJ11 and RG6 connectors are taking half a month?).

The headset meanwhile has never arrived (ordered before the rest)and I’m volleying emails back and forth with an ESL customer service flunkey. I’ll submit the paypal dispute tommorow if I’m not satisfied they’re seriously sending out a replacement.

Gotta love ebay. I’ve been really lucky so far, so I guess I was due. The good news (as far as it goes) is that my sporadic internet connection is still sporadic, and so it’s not like I could game properly anyway.

Timeline? I am hoping the RJ11 connectors arrive today or tommorow as I’d like to have the new system operational this weekend. I’m testing all the new stuff by running the new distribution as an extension off the old one, once I’m sure it’s all wired properly I’ll just relocate the main drop and snip the old wires.

    WHAMO…

    We’re away.

It could go horribly wrong, but I’m confident it will work itself out.
