Grrr, gun pron competition…

Published by at 07:26:30 under Project: Norinco M14S

Well, my brother Piet has done it again, this time posting pics of his Break-Action Rossi in .223.

I’m quickly discovering the natural light in our house is far from optimal when it’s overcast and/or snowing, and I can’t help but feel that I’m falling behind when it comes to the informal show-and-tell exchange we have going on here. I’m also loathe to post sub-par pictures of my boomsticks, just because I’m a little anal about that.

My norinco M14

So here then quickly is a semi-passable snap of my Norinco M14. I’ll do my best to get some better pics online today.

That is still one of my favorite rifles.
I don’t think I heard if you figured out a way to drop the scope.
Still to high to sight in easy, or what?
By the way, pick up a box of shells for our trip up.
The Norinco and M1 are on my to do list.

I hope Lisa likes shopping or something. I’m not likely to sit at the range in Canada in the middle of winter if I wont do it in Texas in our mild weather…

Piet: Ayup..I have a few “hail mary” boxes of ammo for the Norc M14 and the Springfield M1 sitting in my ammo stockpile, I’m sure we can use a visit as an excuse to expend the ammo.

If you look at the picture the bell of the scope sits a few measly mm above the handguard, the old scope mount I had for it was a generic one that had the scope sitting WAY high, this is a slightly more expensive ARMS18 mount, nice low mount for the scope and a much more solid mount in general.

Nikki: Hehe, Lisa hasn’t been out to the range with me in quite some time. The good news is that my range has an indoor handgun range, with heaters, which makes the shooting much more reasonable in the winter months (only just found out the heaters had been installed on my last visit, after spending two hours on the outdoor range…brrrr).

I am certain there are plenty of other activites that can be found that don’t involve firearms/freezing/male bonding while you’re out.

Well I’ll take the male bonding, but my blood is so thin after the 130F+ months in IZ that I’m freezing when it’s like 50F!
