New firearms? Czech!
New additions arrived today finalizing the trade for the FrankenGarand. Top is the Czech VZ58 Rifle and bottom is the CZ52 pistol.

I was loathe to part with the FG, but moneys still tight, and she had become a safe queen in a very short period of time. I’m sure I’ll be building another FG before too much time has passed, in the meantime I can amuse myself with the much cheaper to feed 7.62×39mm VZ58.
Ok, I’ve been waiting up for the mailman all morning, and I’ve got to get some sleep before my night shift.
Good lord man, our parents left Eastern Europe just we wouldn’t have to carry something that looks like that!
They look nice, you traded the FG straight up for those? I ask because I know that you don’t have enough pistols…
I know the pistol is restricted, but what about the VZ58? Range Queen or practical?
Nah, they’re both restricted. The barrel is too short on the VZ58, although Wolverine had a bunch of CZ-858-2’s in (which are VZ58s with a non-restricted length barrel).
It was a straight trade, the pistol and the rifle for the FG. Not bad as the value of the two I got was about $900, and I think I sunk about $500 into the FG (not counting my time, natch).
Hmmmm. I missed b-day and Christmas presents this year, as I had asked for budget play at the motorcycle show to buy luggage, which I then got for free due to the inept service department and thus did not need luggage for my bike.
I might just look into a new rifle…
Hmmm, new rifle. Personally I’d say AR180B, about $1100 out the door, unrestricted and a nifty little rifle.
Admitedly the “unrestricted” thing is becoming less of a concern for me, as I only EVER shoot at the range, but by the same token the AR180B remains high on my “must have” list.
Purdy.
Makes me think of renewing my membership again…
