Well, as I sit here at work madly copying and pasting the old entries into the new blog (easy to import my ass, I’d have to reinstall MT to get this done “easily”), I can’t help thinking that 2004 has been pretty good to me.

The summary of this year?

• I witnessed the birth of my Daughter Jillian Marie, and shared that moment with my darling Lisa.
• I juggled jobs, and despite having worked for three employers (at the same time no less) and still working full time at a job that drives me nuts, I feel that I’ve made some headway, and that there is some light ahead.
• My car (damaged around new years last year) was finally repaired, and looks like a shiny POS again.
• I made it to the range a minimum of once a month, often more.

Perhaps the only good thing about having the website wiped clean is that I get the chance to take care of those irritating little details that have been nagging at me for so long. So I’ve taken this opportunity to try and organize things in a more coherent manner, and even taken a chance to learn my way around WordPress.

While it seems WP suffers from the same comment spam attacks that MT is weathering, the lull should give me a chance to find my way around this thing, and maybe even tweak it a bit. For those of you that may have stopped by during the reconstruction (that is in truth still taking place), it was likely rather entertaining watching the site go through various incarnations over the course of a few hours.

We’ll see where we are at this point Friday night, when I’ve had a chance to cobble together some images, and copy my backups onto CD. Yes folks, I am spending another new years eve working, and I’ll be picking up stat pay to rebuild this site.

Could be worse, eh?

Well, with the loss of all my data by my hosting service, I have taken this opportunity to change blogging packages. We’ll see how this one works compared to MoveableType, and I hope to import the old blog entries from my backups (which I am assured is a simple process…we’ll see).

Hang tight while I try to get everything set up all nice and neat, I’m not happy about having the site “live” while in a state of flux, but there’s alot of work to be done, and I have limited resources here at work.
